Human resource planning is an important part of human resource management because it ensures that the necessary manpower is available to meet the organization’s goals. The competition to produce excellent and low-cost items has been expanding day by day as a result of the globalization trend. In this situation, the HR department must prepare ahead to ensure that quality staff is available to compete in the market. The availability of workers must be sufficient to enable the organization’s smooth operation. Otherwise, the stated goals and objectives will not be met in a timely manner.
The process of ensuring that an organization’s human resource requirements are identified and plans are established to meet those requirements is known as human resource planning ( Armstrong, 2009).
Objectives of HR Planning
The objectives of HR planning are as follows,
· To ensure the optimum use of available HR
· To forecast future requirements
· To help in recruitment and selection
· To cope with changes
· To maintain productivity levels
· To reduce labor cost
· To work out an effective employee development program
· To establish good industrial relations
Linkage between Organizational Plan and HR Plan
Any organization would have a strategy in place to achieve its objectives. The organization’s human resource is responsible for putting these strategies into action. To guarantee that the organization is able to deliver the organizational plan successfully. HR KRAs must be aligned with the organizational plan.

Factors to be considered in Forecasting Future HR Demand
Forecasting is used to assess HR demand. It should be carried out while taking into account the organization’s plans and future actions.
The demand for goods and services produced by an organization has a direct impact on the demand for human resources. A rise in product demand will result in an increase in the need for extra human resources. An important issue to consider in HR planning is the company’s objectives and strategic plans. Changes in manufacturing methods have a direct impact on HR planning. External factors in the environment, including economic, social, political, technical, and legal considerations, may potentially influence future HR demand.
Conclusion
HR planning is critical for any business. It enables businesses to solve employee shortages or obstacles before they become a problem. With a thorough understanding of the process, businesses can devise the best plan for assembling the greatest personnel.
