Human Resource Management Strategy and Analysis

All managers should prioritize strategic planning. All personnel and other actions made by management should be in accordance with the firm’s overarching strategic plan’s goals. These objectives are organized in a hierarchy, beginning with the president’s broad strategic goals and descending to what each individual manager must do to support organizational objectives. Because each manager must make decisions in the context of the company’s strategies, it is critical that all managers comprehend management planning (Khadafi, 2017).

Strategic Planning Process

The strategic planning process is more comprehensive: it aids in the creation of a roadmap for which strategic objectives you should focus on and which actions will be less beneficial to the company. The steps of the strategic planning process are listed below,

Types of Strategies

ü Corporate

ü Business

ü Functional

According to (Dessler & Varkkey, 2018)Each organizational function or department requires its own functional strategy, and strategic human resource management entails developing and implementing human resource policies and practices that provide the employee competences and behaviors required to meet the company’s strategic goals.

Human resource strategies are policies and procedures that managers utilize to support their strategic goals in human resource management. The strategy map, the HR scorecard, and digital dashboard are important and popular strategic human resource management tools.

HR metrics, Benchmarking and data analytics

Before making a decision, the management will want to gather and analyze data. Human resource metrics (quantitative measures of some human resource management activities like employee turnover) are essential for developing high performing human resource policies and procedures.

A high performance work system is a collection of human resource management procedures and norms that, when combined, result in higher employee productivity.

Employee engagement and performance

(Donnell, 2021)Employee engagement can have a major impact on a company’s value. It’s more than about a paycheck for engaged employees who are pleased and fully dedicated to their jobs. It’s their dedication to their companies and roles that makes them passionate about their work, which is often reflected in their individual outcomes.

Conclusion

In today’s strategic planning and management process, the human resource function continues to play an increasingly visible role. Successful human resource managers have adopted a mindset that emphasizes how their departments can play a key role in strategy implementation.
